This past week I got to go and visit my aunt and uncle and see some of my cousins in Flagstaff. I was so super-excited to get out of town and actually see them. I haven't been able to leave the valley for almost 2 years, mostly due to my mom being in the hospital so much. My aunt and uncle have visited my mom a ton while she has been dealing with leukemia and those scary times when things were looking really bad, they came down to the valley to see her on a moment's notice.
It was a super-short trip up to Flagstaff and I am kind of dying to go back and see them all for a longer amount of time. I've told my cousin Stacie that I want her to take me on a super-long, super-exhausting hike anywhere she wants to take me. The only 2 things I require is that it be an extremely beautiful hike and that it kind of kills me. Meaning that when it's over I really want to be more worn out than I've ever been. Like I'd shot three weddings back to back . With this in mind, I plan to climb stairs every chance I get, so that next time I go there, I will at least be kind of ready.
My cousins have a Sizzler restaurant in Flagstaff and they took us there for lunch. While we were there, I started talking to my cousin Dene (Stacie's daughter) about her upcoming wedding. She's getting married at Disneyland in the fall. Candy apple red is the color for her wedding. (Am I getting that right, Dene?) I asked her if she had shoes yet, and I think she said she still has to get them.
The next day in my email I got this newsletter from BHLDN with tons of cute shoes. I really like the yellow ones. And the silver glittery ones. Maybe the red ones would be good for Dene's wedding!
Stacie has horses. I have this idea that I would like to photograph Dene and her maid of honor, our cousin Sara, wearing their gowns, with Stacie's horses. Especially with Najem. Najem isn't pictured here, but is a horse with this amazing thick white coat. And, of course, with this sweet brown horse in the picture. Doesn't he have the sweetest face?
I need to tell Dene of my plan and see if we can make it happen.
