I photographed my friend's baby shower today. These two little girls were among the guests.

 My friend (the girl on the right) is expecting her little boy sometime in December. The girl on the left is her sister-in-law who gave her the party.

I definitely want to start having a....what do you call them- watermark? logo? brand? on my pictures. I've been really thinking about how I want it to look. Not really like the words above, but I do like the font style....I just need to keep thinking about it....

I loved the bright colors!

Amber and Isaac are getting married next month! We had so much fun taking their pictures. We met up with them at Olive and Ivy  in Scottsdale and then walked around there getting pictures and after that we went to Arizona Falls. Amber's cousin Christine, who we've known since we were in high school, came with us. 

It was around 110 degrees that whole weekend, which kinda freaked me out when I saw on the weather station that it was going to be that hot. The weekend before we had had a storm, so it was much more comfortable, in the lower 90s. Even when it's hot, when I start taking pictures, I am having so much fun and I am so focused on the job that I can kinda forget how hot it is. But when you are standing there modeling and just having your picture taken over and over, I can imagine it gets really hot and you feel it a lot more than I would. Amber and Isaac, wow, you guys were amazing! I'm so glad you put up with the heat. I love the pictures we got and I had so much fun! 

       

So glad Isaac was up for jumping, I really like this pic Becky got.   

Amber's eyes are so gorgeous. I think this is definitely one of my favorites.

    

I like how it seems like they are kind of playing hide and seek with each other. ;-)

   

So glad they were up for trying this polaroid idea. I've seen this done on other blogs and thought it was so cute, so of course I was looking forward to trying it and I love how Amber's eye is visible in this one....also it was kinda fun to give them polaroids to take home with them.

I've seen this done on other photographer's blogs and I thought it was so romantic.  I'm glad Amber and Isaac were willing to try it and then it worked just how I hoped it would!

i heart holgas

I was reading Leigh Miller's photography blog, looking at her gorgeous pictures taken with a Holga camera and then I did something so quickly that I barely even had time to realize I was doing it: I went on Amazon and bought my own Holga. I've been reading about Holgas and wanting one for years.

Luckily, my impetuousness won't hurt too much; these cameras are pretty inexpensive. They use big 120 film (so your negative is larger than regular 35 mm film) and the cameras are supposed to actually have light leaks and allow strange vignetting and blur. I love blurriness but light leaks sound more than a little scary to me; I still remember ruining deeply anticipated rolls of film in high school and college, when they accidently got exposed to light for a second (a second is all it takes really) and so I might put black tape on my holga camera if the light leaks seem to be too much---I have read that people do that.

I can't wait for it to come in the mail along with some color and B&W 120 film I ordered. I'll be checking the mailbox like crazy 'til my cool little camera arrives and then I cannot wait to see what dream-like images I can make from it. I can picture loving it so much I'll want to print my own negatives.....I wish I knew of some place that had open photo labs....

dream job/internship on saturday night live! cool pictures of olympian michael phelps!

This ad below is on craigslist, which seems kinda funny to me. Saturday Night Live finds interns using craigslist? Really? I guess they do! I was just watching SNL. I don't think I've watched it for years....I used to have to watch it every Saturday night as a teenager.

You know how SNL will put up pictures of their host before and after the commercial, they just flash a quick picture of the person who is the host and then go to commercials or back to the show? Well, they had all these beautiful pictures of Michael Phelps---not just beautiful cuz he is this amazing athlete---although yes partly because of that (of course!)---but beautiful too cuz of the post-processing of the pictures, the first was so gorgeous, all grayed out but somehow really sharpened and saturated at the same time.....so now I am looking online for those picures, but haven't been able to find anything so far...got any ideas where to look? I would be so happy to find these pictures, I just really want to look at them and see if I can find out what the artist/photographer did to them.

In my search I did come across this craigslist ad though. Can you imagine how fun that would be, to be both a student and an intern at SNL? You would learn so much....

Interns will assist on photo shoots with the hosts and musical guests for the show, setting up lighting equipment and being on hand for whatever is needed. Other duties include framing, working on the computer, printing, shooting rehearsals, general office work, etc...

~blog stuff and a couple pictures of Loisann~

We finally went to the Apple store at San Tan Village last week. Seeing all their gleaming, gorgeous computers made me really hopeful. They cost so much, but know that they will make our business so much better. I can hardly wait to get one, even though I still do have to wait!

I just changed the theme of this blog. Typepad has dozens to choose from and while I intend to create my own picture banner for the blog sometime soon, I think it's fun to play around with what typepad offers. I also plan to make a logo/brand/wording that says eden photography. I came across a free online font website, full of thousands of different types of fonts and after looking at about a kazillion of them I found a few that I absolutely loooved. They were so gorgeous I could hardly take my eyes off of them.

Here are a couple pictures we took of our friend Loisann up in Flagstaff a few weeks ago. We were walking in the downtown area just to look around and shop but after Lois bought the hat she is wearing and we came across this alley and this pink door, we had to start taking lots and lots of pictures.
