We are photographing at Woods Canyon Lake, approximately 110 miles from the Valley. Meet us at the lakeside store!

 

Cost: $250 for a one hour session, and you will receive:

 

• 30 5 by 7 inch OR 50 4 by 6 inch glossy Holiday Postcards – you choose the background and photograph you want, with the option to purchase more. All text and colors can be customized. Prints on metallic paper will be available for an extra charge.  *View templates at the bottom of this page.*

OR

    An album with 20 4 by 6 inch prints.

• A CD with approximately 20 to 30 photoshopped high resolution images for you to use and print as you like.

• Access to a private online photo gallery where you can purchase archival quality professional prints, canvas prints, additional albums, and additional cards.

How do I reserve my time slot? Just call Becky at 480-295-1901 or email Becky at luciole2007@gmail.com which day and time slot you would prefer, and we will get back to you within 24 hours to tell you if that time is available, or the next closest time. (First come, first served!)  We then hold your time slot for 48 hours for you to pay the 50% non-refundable retainer ($125) in order to reserve your spot. We take debit or credit in a secure online Paypal account, also cash, check and money order. The other 50% is due at the beginning of your portrait session.

 

 

  About Woods Canyon Lake:

 

           We will be walking back into the woods about 1/8 of a mile, so please bring shoes to change into that will allow you to walk.

Woods Canyon Lake is approximately 30 miles from the quaint woodsy town of Payson, where you can book a room if you want to stay the night. There are also tons of activities to do in the woods – hiking, camping, boating and other water-related activities. There is a 5 mile trail around the lake, boats for rent, and a store for things you forgot to bring. There are also restrooms at the lake.

Woods Canyon Lake is on top of the Mogollon Rim, in a small canyon surrounded by pristine hills of Ponderosa Pine, Douglas fir, and Aspen trees. The sky is startlingly blue, outdone only by the glittering blue water. Blue jays, frisky, friendly squirrels and the occasional elk like to look out from the trees to say hello. Surrounding campgrounds include the Aspen Campground, the Crook Campground, and the Spillway Campground, to name a few. The town of Christopher Creek is west of Woods Canyon Lake by a few miles, and has places to stay, including cabins, as does Forest Lakes, a town just a few miles east of the lake.

 

To get to Woods Canyon Lake:  

 

If heading from the Phoenix area, head east on the 87 highway (accessible from both Country Club Rd. and Gilbert Rd.) and then head up to Payson (about 80 miles away). In the middle of town you will come to a junction. Take the 260 highway east about 30 miles up into the woods. When you see mileage marker 282 start looking for the turnoff to Woods Canyon Lake (on the north side of the highway – left side if coming from Phoenix). After you turn off you can follow the signs to the store, where there is a free parking lot. The road is paved the whole way (so turn right when you come to a gravel road, there will be a sign indicating the way to the lake and store).

 

We will meet you at the store!! Just a reminder that there will be other groups scheduled before and after you, so you may want to show up a little early in order to take advantage of your full hour.

How do I reserve my time slot? You then have 48 hours to pay the $125 retainer in order to reserve your spot. We take Paypal (debit or credit) and cash, check and money order.

 

How long will it take to receive my images? We should have your images ready for you to view on your online gallery in 3 to 4 weeks after the shoot. You can then pick out your photo(s) for your cards or album and we will create those and send them to you along with your CD shortly thereafter.

 

Why aren’t my photos ready immediately? It takes time to photoshop the images, and we hold ourselves to a very high quality and are not willing to give you less than our best work.

 

Can I call you up there? No, unfortunately our cell phones do not receive service at the lake.

 

What if it rains or the forest is unexpectedly closed? We will try our best to reschedule you that day. However if we are unable to, then we will reschedule you for a woodsy setting in the East Valley area (we know of several good places) on another day soon after. Please note that the $125 retainer fee is non-refundable for any reason, but that you will get another portrait shoot in the valley if necessary.

 

What if we don’t make it in time, or our plans change and we don’t make it at all? Same for if it rains – we will try our best to reschedule you that day or another day in the East Valley area.

 

What should we wear? Anything that you feel comfortable in (remember that you will need to do some walking, so we suggest comfortable shoes). If you have holiday props (like Santa Hats!) you may want to bring those too! We find that coordinating your family’s style generally makes a good photograph.

We are two sisters, Becky Eden and Brenda Eden. We both have fine art photography degrees from ASU. We have been involved with photography for over 15 years.
