Cat masquerading as exclamation point!

This is Avery. He's new around here. He's not so pointy anymore. He gets plenty to eat and even though he is still afraid of the dog, he's doing alright. He came to be with us the same evening I got my purple girl bike. Two wonderful newnesses on one single night in late September! Oh, and one thing I should tell you: while his name is Avery, everyone calls him Baby Bat.

I've never been much of a cat fancier - I like to be in charge. As an adult I have developed an allergy to cat dander, so have to maintain a certain distance. However, I have recently developed a new appreciation for the kitty cats of my friends and family. My sister's cat has won my heart - she brings laughter and love into a home devoid of grandchildren (sis' kids live far away). If not for the allergy I might get a cat to keep me company, too. ;-)
